Still to be done

Many thanks to everyone for your continued support for our Church appeal. We have now reached the point of being able to commission one of the outstanding major works, the engraved glass screens for the Reconciliation Chapel, enabling it to be used for counselling and confessions, something we badly need. It is hoped the screens, depicting the various biblical stories of Mary Magdalene according to the different approaches of the Eastern and Western Christian traditions, will be completed and installed around Easter 2015.Our thanks to you for enabling this, and to Archbishop Desmond Tutu for a generous donation towards the project, enabling us to move towards commissioning it.

With the sustained support being given to our Church appeal, we are confident we will soon be able to complete the outstanding work on the church: completion of the Resurrection altar with depictions of Christ’s resurrection by Nicholas Mynheer, the new high altar, and provision of seating for the nave.

All 22 choir stalls have now been sponsored by individuals and are in position within the church. Our thanks and appreciation to the staff and prisoners at Whatton prison who have done such a fantastic job throughout the project.
